Hey Guys 

 

I am new to Mac and I have just got Webroot Internet Security on it. I have been scanning it daily since I got it, force of habbit I guess, but today as I have attempted to Scan, it just runs the timer on the scanner window. I have already set permissions for webroot with the firewall, any ideas guys ?

 

Running Mac OSx: Capitan. Verison 10.11.4

Not sure why that happens but have you tried to reboot and try scanning again?

Just restarted and attempted to scan, no joy, I have also shut down and restarted webroot, also no joy, oh steve why do you not like me haha.

Well my only other advise is to uninstall/reinstall Webroot and see if that helps. Please try that and let me know what happens. Do you need instructions for that? If so here they are..

 

To uninstall Webroot SecureAnywhere, follow the instructions below.


  1. Shut down SecureAnywhere by clicking the Webroot icon http://sw.nohold.net/Webroot/Images/wsa_icon.png in the menu bar and selecting Shut Down SecureAnywhere.

    If prompted, confirm that you want to shut down SecureAnywhere.
     
  2. Open the Finder by clicking the Finder icon http://sw.nohold.net/Webroot/Images/mac_finder_icon.png in the dock.
     
  3. Open the Applications directory.

  4. Click and drag the Webroot SecureAnywhere program icon into the Trash http://sw.nohold.net/Webroot/Images/mac_trash_icon.png in the dock.

    A confirming window appears.  Click Uninstall.

    Webroot SecureAnywhere is now uninstalled.  There is no need to restart your computer.
     
Reinstall Webroot

 You can install SecureAnywhere on Mac OS X 10.7 and above. An Internet connection is required to install the software.



To install the software:

 


  1. Click here to download the SecureAnywhere installer to your Mac. Or Click here if you have the Best Buy Geek Squad Subscription service.
     
  2. Double-click wsamac.dmg to open the installer.
     
  3. Drag the Webroot SecureAnywhere icon into the Applications folder.


     
  4. In the first activation window, enter your keycode and click Activate.

Just done it and its scanning, slowly, but it is scanning.

Sure thing Bradforth,

 

Hopefully Webroot behaves..I have an older Mac 2007 and the scan takes my system an hour and a half. So it's hard to have to uninstall Webroot but that's what you do when you are running Beta and what not!
