How do I renew my keycode from the Webroot SecureAnywhere software? It tells me to buy a new keycode when I already bought one from Best Buy.
Hello Ghost921, welcome to the Community!

When you say  you purchased a new key code from Best Buy already, did you get a new key code (that would be a new purchase and not a renewal) or did you keep the same key code?
I bought the one that came with the CD with a new keycode. I was wondering if i have to uninstall the software and install it again?

Hi Ghost921

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Let me try to explain.  If you use the Webroot version then there is only one installer/app and the keycode entered unlocks the features associated with the version purchased; Anti Virus, Internet Security Plus or Complete.  The Besy Buy version, whilst WSA is in fact a different installer/app and so if changing from a Best Buy version to a Webroot version or vice versa one MUST uninstall the current version before installing the other.

In terms of updates once installed each version; Webroot or Best Buy, is updated by a 'push' of the new version to the user, which is the most convenient way to update...but there is a manual 'pull' the update feature in both the Webroot & Best Buy versions.

I hope that helps to answer your question?  But if not then please do come back to clarify exactly what it is you are looking to be answered.

If I may step in for a quick moment, a quick glance at your link shows me that your new copy is definatly a Best Buy Subscription Software copy.  IF you previous copy was a 'standard' copy, NOT a Best Buy version, then a re-install is a MUST.

Really, there is no reason not to reinstall just to make sure.  From the CD or from a download, the install file is still under 1 Mb and VERY fast to install.  I would suggest you go ahead and do the re-install, but you may also want to submit a Trouble Ticket.  You will need Support to transfer the User Profiles listed in your Console from the old key code to the new key code in order to get your Password Manager working.
Hi David

Many thanks for clariying the position...perhaps my attempt at an explanation was not clear/over elaborate. :(

No worries my friend.  Actually, I thought your explanation was rather good... but after noting that he definatly purchased a new Best Buy Subscription I figured might as well go for broke and do the re-install, just to avoid any difficulties.  I have seen a few instances as of late in which during a key code change or renewal (No reintall needed) for some odd reason the UI 'sees' the new key code, it correclty reports the number of days remaining, yet it still shows as being expired or about to expire.  Might as well just avoid that issue to start with on this one 🙂
