Welcome to the Webroot Community LAD, good question!

I am not a tech guru on the underlying methods that all of these use, but I THINK that they do things a couple of ways.  First, your log in data is stored 'in the Cloud', not on your computer.  The data is stored, and tranferred, encrypted, so that it really is quite safe.  Again, I am not positive about this.

One small loophole that might exist with LastPass and the WSA Password Manager is if you choose to export your Password Data to a text file or .css file.  Those exports are meant to be used to re-import the data in the event of data loss as well as to make it easy to transfer the data to a different Password Manager.  For that reason, such exported backup file are NOT encrypted and would present a risk if your computer is compromised.  I strongly suggest never saving any such exports on your computer unless you follow up and encrypt them.  It would be much safer to save them to a USB device.

I do not know all of the reviews and reports from all Password Managers, however I am not familiar with any successful hacking of Roboform, LastPass or the WSA Password Manager.

The bottom line is that it is NOT easy to hack at all.... after all the whole point of a Password Manager is not really to make things easy for you to be lazy (making it so you don't have to bother typing out your passwords manually), the whole point of them is to keep Passwords secure.

I hope this helps a bit 🙂
