Its my understanding that Webroot monitors outbound computer traffic and relys on Windows defender to monitor inbound traffic. I went to Windows Defender to check the settings and found that Defender was in the on position but didn't respond to me clicking on it. I scrolled down and clicked on open for Defender and was told it was turned off. I'm new to Windows 10 and Webroot. Can someone verify that my inbound traffic is being monitored or not..

Hello Tylersmiler,
Welcome to the Webroot Community,
Let me try to explain below:
Windows 10 will not allow you to have both Windows Defender and Webroot enabled at the same time. This is a function of Windows, not Webroot. The same will be true of any AV you install on Windows 10.
If you had Windows Defender active at the time you installed Webroot, Webroot will have become the active AV software, and Windows will have automatically disabled Windows Defender. In the event that Webroot is disabled or uninstalled, Windows will automatically re-enable Windows Defender and keep it turned on until you enable or re-install Webroot.
Please look here if you are comfortable using the registry. https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Antivirus/How-to-Run-WSA-alongside-Windows-D...
You really don't need Windows Defender because Webroot will protect you without added drag to the system. IMO
Now for the Firewalls. Please look here https://www5.nohold.net/Webroot/ukp.aspx?pid=12&login=1&app=vw&solutionid=761&donelr=1
Also please look here. http://live.webrootanywhere.com/content/599/Managing-Firewalls
To check Windows 10 Firewall please look here On Start, go to > Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall. Windows 10 Firewall should be running and protecting you.
? can you assist here?
Hope this helps?

I am very sorry but I need to update my post....Windows 10 does allow for Windows to run along side with another AV..since the Build of Windows Build 14352. You can turn Windows Defender on if you like. I prefer not to. But please look below if you want to turn on Windows Defender.
