I haven't been able to get internet for days Got on the internet my speed is .13mbs. well when I decided to look at the modem it was blinking like crazy and the Hughes box, I just can't keep dealing with this. But when I went to disconnect and always go to disconnect this one persons internet not connected shows up Frontier 4768 and when ever I go to disconnect the blinking goes to stop and the person hides or just happens to show up on the blue area on the computer. I believe that is the person doing this to me. As of Nov. 27th I will no longer have internet. And that will be a blessing I do believe. To much bad stuff for someone like me, I don't like bad things makes me sad. Thank you for your time and have a great day.

Hi Emmy!
So sorry you are having this sort of problems but the internet is diffintely a hard to have without Security. And the safest computer is one that is off line.
That's a shame that you feel that someone is stealing your internet.
Anyways...Good luck to you littlevoice! 🙂

Hi Sherry
Hope to enjoy internet before the end of the month, leaving because nothing but a pain, can't afford the internet anymore. So when I try to get on the internet it's so slow, I go back look at lights are flashing like crazy, I go to diconnect, without disconnect lights stop. When I got the Geek Squad they left my internet sped up real fast. I don't know what to say I guess it's just me. sorry.
Have a great day

Hi again, I got nosey again and on my HP printer it asked for 2 times to permission to enter firewall. I redid the firewall, so it did cause some of the problems, at one point I had 3 people on the network or 3 networks. Somehow awhile back the computer ended up on public, I've been trying to get it back on private. I am not that smart, but I get to some areas on firewall and 2 other ATKINS show up on my network, pretty cool right I think so, it also help me back on internet. Thank you for being a good person to me about this, not easy when no one can understand what I'm going thru talking about.
Thank you for time

Ask a friend or look in the book of the modem. In all modems you can restrict the connetion to a selection of MAC-adresses.
Just put in the one of yuor computer, your printer, your mobile and yor best friend.
It takes someone more knowledgable to simulate a MAC-adress.And you need een new password.
Broadcast is also set to off.
My modem is secured this way. After connecting to the intrnt again, we tried to get in with other computers and mobiles. Did not work. We also checked the administration list in the modem. All communication from other mac-adresses simply bounced of.
Change the settings of yor modem with your modem connected preferrably by LAN or USB. WIFI if there is no onther possibilty. Pull the plug off your internet cable. Good luck.
If you do not know how to do this, and you do net have any friends to help you. There are a lot of youtube posts to show you how. Just go to Starbucks or some other WIFI point (library).
However there is another possiblity for slow connection. If your modem broadcasts in the same frequency range as yor neighbours. They just scram up. Try to download a wifi/checker app on your mobile and check the wifi signals around you. Change the frequeny in your modem.
Hope you succeed

Hello Bert1959, welcome to the Community!
Excellent advice there, thank you very much!@ , if you are not able to do all of this on your own, you might ask someone who knows how to drop by your house to assist with this.. there are some good ideas there.
Also, if your WiFi router is not in the same room as your computer, printer, etc, you may want to check the strength of the WiFi signal. While a WiFi router may claim a certain range, that is true "line of sight": how far away it can work and have the devices VISIBLE to the router. Any walls, furniture, floors, etc between the router and your devices will degrade the signal and slow the connection down.

Bert1959,
Thank you and yes all is great advice I will try, it is a shame I can't find good cheap internet. But security is no.1 no one told before now about the walls but I did figure that pretty much. I was looking at the firewall list and at the logs list, here is the question we have a character before word of anything RootSystem what ever okay. Now what about the ones that have no charaters before System or Root any of the drivers so on. I have no other computers hooked up either. Did just get a notebook to work off wifi I hope so when no internet I can stay in touch a little easier chan laptop. Haven't done anything with it yet.
Thank you for your help
