I had webroot loaded by best buy and now I can nto sync my ipod. my laptop is not recognizing it. When I brought laptop and IPOD to apple, we verified my IPOD is fine and can be seen on other machines. Apple thinks there is a setting in webroot blocking the IPOD. has anyone seen this before?

Sorry you are having problems syncing your iPod. I also have an iPod and I'm not having any issues syncing.
Would you shut off Webroot from the taskbar and see if this might be the cause. If so there is some information below.

Blocking and Allowing Files
If you continue to have problems with syncing your iPod then you can issue a Support Ticket free of charge with an active subscription.
