I have my scan scheduled at boot up but it will not scan. I have to manually scan.

The check box for scan at bootup is only used if the computer was not able to scan at the scheduled time. In order to scan at bootup, you need to set the Scan Frequency drop down as shown below:
You must have a check next to Enable Scheduled Scans.

EDITED: If the above does not help then if you have a PC and not a Mac then please follow below. It will only takes minutes to reinstall.
Please follow the steps closely!

- Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
- KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
- Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
- Uninstall WSA and Reboot
- Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings if asked to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
- Let it finish it's install scan
- Reboot once again
