When I started mySql I was prompted for the password then webroot came up and asked me if I wanted to deny

mySql access to the internet,  I said yes.  Now if I start mySql and enter the password mySql will immediately

terminate.  The only way I can get to run is to disable webroot.  Then when I try and re-enable webroot W7 puts

a dialog box that says "This program will not run... Windows does not trust this program".  The only way I can

get webroot running again is to reboot.  Up to this point I have been very pleased with webroot but this is a

show stopper,  can anyone help?

Can you please do a clean reinstall of WSA and Please follow the steps closely!

 


  • Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Also can you let us know if this works for you or not so that we can advise you further.

Before you do anything further would yo be able to elaborate on your statement "Up to this point I have been very pleased with webroot...", as it sounds as if you have had WSA installed for a while and it has been runnning fine.

 

If that is the case and I follow that train of thought then you must have installed or started using mySQLrecently...is that the case?

 

If so would you please take the time to review the contents of this Knowledgebase Article as there are a number of places in WSA where it can 'interfere' (for want of a better word) with applications and in the ones covered in the article it shows what the difference is between various options in WSA where it can, and you can also set items to "Allow," "Protect/Monitor," or "Block/Deny"

 

I may be completely wrong here and these options may have nothing to do with the issue that you are describing but I believe that it is worth investigating just in case WSA is 'interfering' and you have the option to adjust the settings to prevent that in the cas e of this specific app.
