No you do not need to put in the Webroot disk to scan. By default Webroot will scan on booting up your computer.
Please have a look at our PC User Guide , running a scan. Look here at this thread about Webroot scanning here
WSA is a smart AV/AM and does not need to look at every file it looks in places where malware could hide and running processes WSA does not care if you have dormant or unactive malware unless you scan the malware or execute it or them then WSA would jump on it or them with it's Realtime Shield and if not detected it will start monitoring what the malware is doing and if determined bad it will rollback to the pre-infections state only if WSA was installed before the infection. And all that from a 750kb program as all the work is done in the Cloud and if that infection when detected and rolled back at the same time automatically everyone using WSA would be protected from that piece of malware as there are no definition downloads as it's all in the Cloud done by the WIN Cloud Database. Smart stuff WSA is! http://www.brightcloud.com/platform/webroot-intelligence-network.php
Hope this helps and if not please get back to us,
Kind Regards,
