Hello all.

I have already opened a support ticket regarding this issue but I would like to inform the community about this issue as well.

I think after the installation of the KB3000850 Windows update my 64-bit Chrome stopped working in conjuction with WSA because it constantly crashes. To confirm my suspicions I have checked the event viewer and I've found an entry. As an additional check I've temporarily switched to 32-bit Chrome and it's working again.

Thank you for this post--I've been having this trouble for a few weeks as well.

Same here : WRUSR.DLL crashes Chrome and IE after installing KB300850 !!!

Hello pv979, welcome to the Webroot Community!

The issues around the recent Windows Updates appear to be a bit complex, as different users have had different problems and thus different fixes are needed.  I think it would be best for you to submit a Trouble Ticket and let Webroot Support take a look at it for you.

Yes, disabling the webshield seems to work as well.
Have same issue in my company. Issue was not present on 8.5.107 but was when I upgraded to 8.5.1.09 I had the IE crashing, and I also have chrome installed. Luckily KB3000850 is an optional update on the systems I have checked so far. And I can confirm, turning off webshield gives a temp fix. Looks like Avast has issues with the MS update aswell from what I can find out.

I have sent in diagnostics to the tech support.
Is this on Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit or some other OS? As it works fine with the Latest build Of Chrome 64bit and WSA v8.0.5.109.

Thanks,

Daniel 😉

Yes, this is on Windows 8.1 x64 after the KB3000850 update in my case. It had been working fine with Chrome x64 until then.
It works fine on my Win 8.1 Pro x64 & Chrome 64bit can you try again to see if it continues?

Thanks,

Daniel

On second thought after a reboot! And closing Chrome and restart it works fine. Maybe @ can ping someone to look at it?

I talked to Shawn about it and he hadn't seen any escalations about it yet.  Forgive me if this has been covered already, but is there a support ticket started for this one?

I will right now!

I had started one but had put in a second one to threat research to whitelist some files, maybe the original one got overlooked.
Seems to be solved as of 8.0.5.111
