This box won't stay ticked.

I tick the box, verify the change with the code, close the window and go back in 5 secs and the box is unticked again.

I even went online to see if there was something to do there. There wasn't.

Bet this is real easy but I Haven't Got A Clue.

Terminal (5) mostly.
Hi Wydeloads

I have not come across this before, have checked on my installation and cannot replicate what you are reporting.

One thing however; would you access your online console, and click on 'Go to PC Security', then click on your PC's profile, and then under the 'About' tab  check to see what the 'Security Setting' setting? Is it 'User Configuration' or is it something else?

The window you have posted reads "Settings - Currently being managed by the Web Console"...so I be,ieve that is where your issue lies.

Bet you're right Balders only I can't login to the account as my password (which I saved in a secret and special place that no one knows about) doesn't work any more. Did you guys change it?

Can't change the passoword 'cause the password helper asks me for "my best childhood fiend" and I don't remember that question from when it was set it up.

I knew this was gonna be easy.

I was thinking the same thing. Decoder, anyone?

? is correct in his assumption that this is being managed by the Web Console. You should not be able to change any of the other settings either.

To change this you will need to login to the Web Console, Navigate to Policies, and then Double Click the policy you are using. You will then see a screen with the settings appear.

You will need to navigate to Core System Shield and then turn that setting on.

I hope this helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you require further assistance.

? In regards to your second message, please dont use wingdings. For others, the translation is:

If you have forgotten the answer to your security question you will need to reach out to support for authentication and they can help you reset the PW as well.

Hi James,

Just logged in with the super secret password that didn't used to work....?

So there was something wrong with the password and not my marbles?

Unusal as forgeting things is my default when it comes to computers, passwords, doing the washing, putting the cat out and life stuff.

Looking at the the panel I see it reports I am/was infected with a gen and do I want to clean up. I clicked yes to that.

Then I logged out and now the password don't work so good and I can't login.

Dang.

Hello,

The issue would not be with the password. It sounds like you may be mistyping it. I would advise resetting the password and writing it down somewhere. If you are unable to reset the password, it is advisable to reach out to support.
Maybe the old copy and paste don't work so good.

Yeah I'm real lazy when it comes this. I only type for you guys.

So I've opened a ticket as there doesn't appear to be the option Baldrick talks about in the about section. Have look

Hi Wydeloads

To get configuration ability from the  client on your system, i.e., from Adavnced Settings you need to set the Security Settings option to 'User Configuration' and then clcik the green tick to the right.

Give it a few minutes to synchronise (or run a manual scan to nudge things along) and then go back to Advanced Settings and try the changing & saving of settings, inlcuding the 'Hosts' one that you reported as an issue.

That should all work now.

Regards, Baldrick
Yeppers as I set and keep all mine at User Configuration! Less hassles.

Cheers,

Daniel 😉
Triplehelix is right on the money and so was Balders.❤️:womanlol:

User config solved the problem and here's some more good news. I just got infected for the 7th time and Weboot dealt with it. And I didn't know a thing till I opened the configgery thing.

By then it was all over as the fat lady had sung and the all the hippies had caught the last train for the coast.

I like Apple Pie too.
