Hello dwherm8,
Welcome to the Webroot Community,
Occasionally, you will notice that the SecureAnywhere icon in your system tray includes a small padlock symbol:
This lock symbol indicates that you are running an application that is protected by the Identity Shield in your Webroot software. Protected applications are secured against information-stealing malware, but also have full access to data on the system. By default, web browsers are given the "protected" status. If desired, you can also add other software applications to the "protected" list, such as financial management software.
Please have look at the PC User Guide
Hope this helps?
