Getting an error message and I must contact Microsoft right away. I know it's a scam, but how do I get rid?prevent it?

Welcome to the Community Forums.
It is most likely ads-related as a result of you visiting a certain website or the like. First thing to try is to swith on the popup blocker that is built into Edge...It is in the Advanced Settings section of the Settings for Edge. Try that and see if that gets rid of the popup.
EDIT: Just to add that it is unlikely that there is anything malicious re. the popup itself as they want you to call so that they can enage you and try to sell you unnecessary services.
Let us know if you need guidance on how to find the block popup setting for Edge.setting.
