if someone got our ip address what should we do my wife has a mac i did a web root on my comp and had no action needed

IP addresses are not private... they are quite pubilc. The only thing you need to do is make sure you have protection on all of your computers, and if you suspect that a computer is infected by malware that was not detected submit a Trouble Ticket to have Webroot Support take a look.

If I might add; iff you connect to the internet using a hareware router then that too will provide some protection in itself fro certain types of attacks, in addition to the protection that WSA on you PC will give you.
And ifI may cheekily add; if you Wife's Mac does noy already have WSA installed on it then now may be a good tiem toget her a copy and install it...for her to be able to practice the good advice provided by David.
