I have been getting Alerts that my Webroot and Windows Defender are turned off. Webroot is most certainly NOT off. Can anyone guess why the reports have been popping up? This did occur about a year ago. The problem disappeared after a while.

I assume you are using Windows 10. If that is the case, you will likely get the pop up when Webroot updates itself. When it does this it has to keep protection running whilst closing the old version and opening the new. This is a complicated process and whilst this is happening, Windows 10 thinks that, momentarily, there is no AV protection. However it is not a concern to the developers who are aware of this issue.
-Lou, Nemo speaks not with fork tongue. This happened to me too and I posted up the same question as you have. Rest assured, you are completely protected when that pop-up, pops up. Its just a " burp " and nothing to be concerned about.
Thanks for asking your question, Nemos answer will certainly put others who may have the same concern, at ease.
