does webroot protect my entire computer from viruses, malware etc or just on the interenet? Is this like McAfee?

Hello there! Welcome to the Community,
YES, WSA does indeed protect against malware just as other AV programs do. If you purchased the Internet Security or Complete version, it has additional features to help keep you safe such as the Password Manager.
It is like McAfee in that way, but it is FAR different than McAfee in other ways. WSA operates differently in providing malware protection, so it is FAST, it will not slow down your computer, and you do not have to worry about making sure you have downloaded the 'latest definitions'. In that respect, it is far better than McAfee.
