How do  I change my security settings for I can download?
Hello tommyp,

Welcome to the Community Forum,

Now I have come across some downloaded software being blocked when trying to be installed...usually for very good reason.

Would you be able to tell me what you are trying to download?

Is this message from Webroot or Windows? If from Windows look below.

If you are trying to download a file or software, but the following message is displayed:

  • "Your security settings do not allow you to download this file......."

  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Go to Tools/Internet Options/Security/ Custom Level
  • Scroll to "Launching applications and unsafe file"
    • Select "Prompt".

  • Click on OK to validate.

If you can tell me what you need I can advise you further.

Kind Regards,
It was on prompt.  I try to download new adobe updates and it says security settings wont let it.  Also when I try to view my kids race results which come by adobe it wont open it.  This has never happened before installing webroot.
Hi @

Would you download the latest Adobe Reader from here https://get.adobe.com/reader/ and see if this works. Please uncheck any addons such as McAffee

Otherwise please read these PC User Guides in Allowing/Unblocking
