I now get an error message that Windows reports that "site advisor has stopped working" and that windows will look for a solution to the problem. Next time i open a website, i get the same message. Does that have to do with recently installing Secure Anywhere?

That is a separate program from Webroot. Siteadvisor is the web filter from McAfee.
You can safely go to your Add/Remove Programs panel in Windows and uninstall Siteadvisor. If you had McAfee installed previously, it did not remove SiteAdvisor when McAfee was uninstalled.
