I decided to give Webroot another try since my last complain thinking something must have been done to improve its FP nuicance but nope. I did a fresh install today of Windows 8.1 Pro x64 then install WSA...
all went well....another hour later, while looking up on Google this term: "Partitioningbad for SSDs"
The 3rd search result which is a popular forum, gets classified as a Malicious threat...:
http://www.oczforum.com/forum/showthread.php?54262-Mutiple-Partitions-on-an-SSD-Good-Idea-or-Bad-Idea
Sigh....back to NOD32 for good this time, this is not a real AV, but a a False Positive based security solution, it blacklistes the entire web as a start, then starts slowly unlocking them with each customer complaint.
Ridiculous! Now I know why many people have moved away from WSA on Wilder Security forums

Hilarious @ just Hilarious!!!
:@ Hi @ I tried that link with firefox and WSAC blocked that link? So I backed out. Strange huh?
It is probably just a False Positive. They happen. In this post the OP has decided to not report it and so instead of becoming a part of the Solution he has become a part of the Problem.@ wrote:

@David:
Because I am tired of reporting. This is not my job. I am a user, someone needs to fire that person responsible for these FPs
I mean it's a reputable forum, how in the world did it get it blacklisted in the first place?!
I understand FPs, of stuff that may harm you. But a forum for god's sake!
and previously, a codecs website, Meda Fire (sharing website) this is just not acceptable

Because nobody ever got infected from a forum.....or from a respected website.......
Joking aside we are aware of these issues with the website FP`s the team are working on it at the moment.

It is really just plain common sense: all of YOU at Webroot and Brightcloud simply don't like having to deal with FP reports just as much as we dislike sending them. But by us sending them, we are helping the Global Webroot user community, and we are also helping you at Webroot as you work to fix the issue.
Reporting them is a win-win situation for us all.
@David, I was reporting them time after time before.
But when this got of hand, I had to post my frustration here. The whole system needs to be revamped from scratch and re-done.
One has to ask, how did they get blacklisted in the first place? someone was definitely not doing his job right and has caused WSA to have this reputation in other forums of high FPs which I know experience as well so it only has to be true. I hope you can voice my concern to the management of Webroot.
If the FP was of some unknown site, trust me, I would simply report the FP and not complain, but these daily FPs I get of reputable download sites like Media fire, forums, a codecs site, a drivers site (ASUS' Merlin page for router firmware) and the list goes on...this is no joke

Just my 2c here...If I had become tired of seeing FPs on websites I assumed were clean, then I would just click "Unblock and Continue"....end of story, no big deal.
Also, although MediaFire itself is ok (I'm seeing no block here) I would stress that one must be careful downloading codecs, as it's a common source of infection. See the Malc0de rating here:
mediafire.com safe ? Check it with URLVoid
The 17 Most Dangerous Places on the Web | PCWorld
Threat 6 >> Trojan horses disguised as video codecs, infecting your PC with malware
The Place: Video download sites, peer-to-peer networks
If you watch or download video online, you've likely been told to download a video codec--a small piece of software that provides support for a type of video file--at least once. Usually, these bits of software are perfectly legitimate (for example, the popular DivX codec), but some less-than-reputable download services or video sites may direct you to download a piece of malware disguised as a codec. Security software company Trend Micro provides a good example of what these attacks look like.
If You Have to Go There: Your safest option is to stick with well-known video sites such as YouTube and Vimeo. And for catching up on the latest episodes of your favorite TV shows, sites and services like Hulu, TV.com, ABC.com, and iTunes are safer than peer-to-peer networks.

@Dermot:
This is a very popular codec called SVP (smooth video project) it makes any video you play to run@60 FPS to bring you real life experience. When I got to know about this tool 2 years ago, I never can watch a movie with out it. It's better than being in the cinema I re-watched all my movies @ 0 FPS and stuff like Fast & Furious with the fast moving cars really bring a different level of experience.
That is no shady Chinese codec viruses website. It is a free tool with a respected developer
http://www.svp-team.com/
Secondly, this webpage was blacklisted and marked as maclicious, the ASUS Merlin Firmware for the love of God:
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/bkfq2a6aebq68//Asuswrt-Merlin
You don't see an FP now because it was fixed 48 hours after I reported it.
I repeat, all AVs have False Positives, but when the dude sitting behind the computer at the site reputation is simply blocking the entire internet thinking yeah, that's easy, let customers report and when they do I'll whitelist, that is wrong.
I am going to format my computer now to install NOD32, another wasted day
PS: I am OCD about having a clean registry and stuff like an AV uninstallation require a format in my books.

Just one last word in this thread, if I may MaXimus....you have observed, and respect the developer, And you also know it's nearly always best advice to go to dev's own site, where all the versions are readily available: Download - SmoothVideo Project (SVP) - frame doubling interpolation
I do agree though that FPs can be seen everywhere from time to time, and you've made your point there.

Hello Daniel, sounds like its resolved...Big Thanks,
Sherry
Sherry
And if you note the date and time of the updated determination, you see that BC had it fixed within hours (of report here at least)...so kudos to them for the fast action...which I;ve always seen to be the case, and is the beauty of the response system.

Thanks for the report Daniel! :D
