Im new to Windows 10 and am bothered by the floating adds. Is there an all in one free add blocker that gets rid of this annoyance once and for all ? If it matters, I use Monzila Firefox as my browser and Att.net/yahoo as my home page. Never ran into this with Windows 7 but now am buried with adds having upgraded to Windows 10. Any suggestions ???
Much obliged.

Sorry if this is a double posting but.....Im looking for free add blocker advice. I have Windows 10 and Monzila Firefox . My home page is set to att.net/yahoo and while reading through various topics Im inundated with floating adds. What was Yahoo thinking when they came up with this idea ???? Never had a problem with Windows 7 but 10 is a nightmare.
When choosing an add blocker does one choose it based on one for Firefox or Yahoo or Att, or is there one that covers everything? Im a newly born new-be, thanks for any assistance.8)

Hi ROBERT1725
Hope that you are well?
Are these popups in browser or do you also get them outside of your browsing sessions?
On the assumption that they are in browser then your first approach should be, as you have rightly determined, to add a popup blocker, as and add on or extension, to the browser or browsers that you use.
For both Chrome & Firefox I would recomend uBlock Origin ...to get it just go to the browser's addon/extension manager page and search for it, install it and then configure it. That should get rid of a lot of popups.
For Edge (if using Windows 10) you can activate the built in popup blocker...let us know if you need guidance re. that.
Below are the links to uBlock Origin, for Firefox & other popular browsers (just for reference), plus some other blockers that are popular/work well for Community members:
For Internet Explorer Ad Block Plus: https://adblockplus.org/
For Firefox uBlock: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/?src=ss or Privacy Badger: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/privacy-badger-firefox/
Google Chrome uBlock: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm?hl=en or Privacy Badger: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/privacy-badger/pkehgijcmpdhfbdbbnkijodmdjhbjlgp
Hope that helps? If installation of these does not reduce the popups then post back as there are other avenues to explore but hopefully this will do the trick for you.
