I've had webroot for quite some time now and never had issues with it, until now. Now it is constantly taking up at minimum 30% of my processor and it can get into the 40s. On top of that I can't stop it. I can't open the program in anyway and task manager can't end it. Using the icon in the tray on the dock does nothing as when I right-click nothing pops up and left clicking does the same amount of good. Then if I use the start menu or desktop shortcut the cursor gets the hourglass but it never actually shows up. How do I fix this?
Hello there, welcome to the Webroot Community!

Have you tried to uninstall Webroot?  A clean install of WSA might fix the problem.

  • Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Please let us know if that resolves your issue!

Hello and Welcome to the Webroot Community!

Just in case and to add what David has suggested and you can't get it uninstalled have a look here: https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Antivirus/PC-Uninstallation-Option-Missing-from-Control-Panel-and-Start/ta-p/34688 also if that doesn't work try it in Safe Mode with Networking.

Thanks,

If I may add my two cents as I am NOT a expert in this area however I can atest to the fact that I have Revo Pro Uninstaller and I can remove WSA if need be using the forced uninstall.

If it is in this case of WSA not showing up in Uninstall/Remove Programs it will not show in Revo Pro either the reason I gave him the Commandline option in the link I posted. But agree I use Revo Pro to uninstall everything I need to!
