In the past, if I had 100 days remaining on my Webroot subscription and renewed early for a year, the 100 days would be added to the new 365 days and I would have 465 days remaining. I just upgraded using a plan at Best Buy and if I enter the new key code, I lose the 100 days and only have 365 days. Is this a change in your policy?
Hi mrt

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The diffference in the Best Buy and Webroot direct renewals does cause some confusion.

The Best Buy renewal does not actually activate until your subscription has actually expired (but you are fully protected for a grace period pending the renewal) even if you renew a few days before expiration, as I understand it.  With Webroot on the otherhand your new subscription period is added to whatever time you have left on your current subscription as soon as you renew.

So in your case you will have to wait for the end of the subscription date before the renewal is transacted & then new subscription applied...rest easy as I understand that your credit card is charged at actual renewal rather than when you request the renewal (but you may want to check your statement just for peace of mind).

Anyway, as I said above if you subscription is actually expired you are still covered pending the renewal activating.

Do let us know how this pans out for you.

Thanks for the reply.  I will probably not renew with Best Buy next time.  Since I already activated the new key it continues to count down so I will eventually lose 100 days from my last renewal.
