Hello,

My WSA Firewall is on. But according to the Windows Action Center, it is not listed as an installed app. My laptop came with McAfee which i allowed to expire because I already had a WSA service on my old laptop. McAfee "manages" the firewall according to Windows. McAfee Firewall has a snoozed status and Windows Firewall has an off status. How in the world do I fix this? I would like to get this error off my system. Does this mean WSA's firewall is not working? Please help!

Hello Skullchef,

Welcome to the Community Forum,

Essentially, the Windows Firewall for Win7 & Win 8 is very robust especially in terms of handling the Inbound so WSA cedes/allows it to handle the inbound security whilst it covers the outbound transactions.  The WSA firewall effectively replaces the Windows Firewall outbound.

Please see this Knowledge Base Article for more information.  And this previous thread  as well as this Thread on the subject  where it is worth reading for more insight.

Webroot's Firewall is active. Read the PC User Guide

If I was you I'd uninstall McAfee and see if the Firewalls straignthen out in the Action Center, since you are no longer using McAfee. This tool below will help you uninstall McAfee.
