will web root remove any red bleed virus?
Hi Bobbedwire

Welcome to the Community Forums.

May I ask as to why you ask?  Also I  have not heard of the 'red bleed' virus.  Could you be referring to the HeartBleed virus that was in the news a while back?

If it is Heartbleed that you are referring to the please see this Knowledge Base article that should answer your question.  If not then please post back.

Hello Bobbedwire, welcome to the Webroot Community!

I assume by "red bleed" you are referring to the Heartbleed Bug identified earlier this year.  No AV can fix it, as it is not actually a virus or malware: it is an "open hole" within the networking software called SSL itself.  Some servers and devices have been patched, many probably never will be.

There is a new problem identified with SSL called POODLE.  At this time, it is really strongly advised to disable SSL entirely.  Please see this KB Article regarding this.  It has information about the newly identified POODLE, but also instructions on disabling SSL, as well as a test website to check if you have SSL correctly turned off.

EDIT:  LOL!  Sir Baldrick beat me to it again.  We have, however, taken rather different routes on this one, so make sure you read both replies 🙂
Ah, David...indeed but either way the Teamwork ongoing is getting all the information to the OP.  I have to admit that the POODLE issue whilst relatively new had slipped my mind so well done for being on the ball and bringing it up.
