Hello everyone,

I have 4 instances of Web Installer under Task Manager/Startup that all point to C;/Programsx86/CommonFiles/wruninstall.exe. The file is 13kg. Does anyone know how to remove 3 of them?

It slows down startup a little bit but I don't know why there are 4 files listed.

Many thanks,

Theresa
? morning morning. Could you tell me what your operating system would be?? If you have those 4 instances of wrruninstall there and it really bugs you enough to want to get rid of them i'd say look for the proecedure to remove WRSA from your system by uninstalling it, rebooting and then to go and hunt for remaining files that might cause this effect. I know TripleHelix has a good manual somewhere but right now i can't even find my slippers ( just woke up :$ and haven't had my java routine yet ) Then once your system is clean ( go and verify it manually in the taskscheduler & windows explorer ) reboot it again and the'n re-install it.

I'm being compact but as a CG i think you know the uninstal/re-install basics 😃
Hi ?

The Support Team confirms that there ARE supposed to be 4 instances in startup. If I removed any of them, I would be in a pickle as they all function differently. Thanks for the assistance.

They also stated that no Webroot files should be deleted.

Regards,

Theresa

Hi @ and @,

Please have a look here: https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Complete/Installation-Folder-and-File-Locations/ta-p/3766
Thank you soo much ? i have to learn how to bookmark things because right now i try to remember everything i learn here. And there's soo much to know about Secure Anywhere
Aw You are quite welcome Edwin! I have so many bookmarked now that I have a hard time finding them period. LOLs!;)
Hi Sherry,

Thanks for the research. That was thoughtful of you. It appeared to be duplicate files as they all pointed to the same file and there were 4 of them. I am glad that Tech Support jumped in quickly to help me too. I would never delete a file unless I knew it was redundant or unhnecessary. Guess I am a cautious user. I've been to other Help forums for different products and had a couple of them destroy my PC. I trust in Webroot and I asked first since they wrote it!!

Thanks again,

Theresa
Sure thing ?! Anytime. Yes, it's always safe/better to ask then be sorry as the motto goes!:D
