Due to a recent episode, I am feeling a need to "back up" Webroot with "something else". The something else I am looking at right now is Kaspersky Total Security. Does anyone here have experience running the two together? What poblems or issues should I look for? I have confidence in Webroot. I just think no single program can do it all and I want to be certain I am protected.
HI there Phillip,

Yes it should be compatible but if you have any issues please Contact Webroot Support and they will help you. IMO you don't need 2 AV's running as WSA uses little resources and have found KAV to be heavy at times. Webroot was made to be compatible with other AVs

But it's up to you of course. 😉
Sherry,

Thank you very much for your thoughts. I will certainly take your opinion under consideration during my decision making process. In the past having used programs like McAfee, Norton, NOD32 and others, I fully understand what you mean by "hea vy" However, the laptop I have targeted for this install has a Core i7 processor clocked at 2.7ghz, 16 GB RAM, and a 1 terrabyte HDD so I have little concern about PC load at this point. That said, I do greatly appreciate the very small footprint of Webroot. This could very well become such a problematic decision that I stay just like I am with Webroot only. Still, I would like to have the option to install KIS should I feel it necessary so any info I can gain concerning compatibility is important.

Again, thank you!

Phil
Hello Phil,

You are most welcome!

Your computer is a very nice system. I can understand your position. But can I offer you more information about Webroot just encase you didn't know?

Webroot SecureAnywhere is the first and only Full Cloud Anti-Malware.

See here for more info: https://community.webroot.com/t5/Techie/Question-Is-Webroot-SecureAnywhere-a-Full-Anti-Malware-or-ju... and here: https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Antivirus/WSA-scanning-on-access-or-on-execu... also this is great: https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Antivirus/Scanning-PC-suspiciously-fast/m-p/...

Again Webroot was built up front to run with other AVs,;)
Hi Phil

Hope you don't mind my butting in but I would just like to add to Sherry's helpful comments.

Whilst Webroot can be used alongside other AVs, I personally do not think that it is desirable or necessary to run two AVs at the same time. Some of us use a layered approach to security and have WSA as our AV but also use an Anti-Executable to run alongside it. This way you are not duplicating processes because both adopt a different approach to keeping your computer malware free.

Thanks for the additional info, Sherry. I am still mulling over my decision so any additional info is helpful.
You are welcome Philip, We are always happy to help...This shouldn't be a rush situation...;)

Thanks, Nemo. Webroot is *SO* different in operation from a "normal" AV is the only reason I am considering KIS. I would never run two "standard" AVs at the same time. The Anti-Executables sound very intefesting but a quick look shows them to have their own set of problems. I am running Malwarebytes Premium 3 and have run it with Webroot for about a year on my #2 PC. I may install it on the new one.

Thanks for your suggestion and info.

Phil
