I'm having a problem with certain games ("Pier Solar HD" & "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter" most recently) failing to exit or alt-tab properly when Webroot is running. Basically, when I exit these games, I get a black screen that I can't Ctrl-Alt-Del out of. I end up having to manually power down my PC to recover. If I shut down Webroot before I play these games, I have no problem what so ever.

Has anyone else had this problem before and if so what did you do to fix it?

Hello solaman!

Welcome to the Community Forum!

Please right click on the WSA icon in the taskbar and select 'Save a Scan log'. Save the log to the Desktop. Open it and go to the bottom of it. Look for a sentence that says the name of the game and mentions the word 'blocked'. Copy the sentence and any sentence that mentions the name of the game or its process, and paste it the Support Ticket you would open using https://www.webrootanywhere.com/servicewelcome.asp?   This service is free of charge with a Webroot subscription!

The Support Team will whitelist the games and give you further instructions.:)

Please let us know if this is resolved or if you need more assistance!

Best Regards,
Nowhere in the log does it say anything about the process being blocked.

I went through the entire log using Find to locate the word "blocked" and neither of the two games came up.

The only mention of the two games in the log says "Monitoring process". Is this what you are looking for?

BTW: Manually adding them to the allow list seems to have worked.
Hello solamon77,

Sorry if I caused any confusion but if you still have problems with your games and the black screen you can just submit a Support Ticket and they can whitelist those files for you! ( https://www.webrootanywhere.com/servicewelcome.asp )

Best Regars & Thanks, 🙂
It could be a simple thing as getting some files Whitelisted in the Cloud Database!

Thanks,

Daniel 😉
Yeah, that's what it is. I manually whitelisted them for myself and the problem was solved. I'll submit info to Webroot so they can add them to their database.
Hi solamon77!

Wonderful! Thats great you got this sorted! Thanks for letting us know?

Thanks,;)
