Cannot istall new disk over old version.  Old verson expired.
Hi jde133

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Well the first thing to say is that there is no 'old' and 'new' version per se, as Webroot are on a continuous improvement program so your instance of WSA should be continually updated, assuming that by 'old' version you are not referring to a pre-2011 version?

OK, so assuming that you are not then firstly please check as to which version you are currently running; hove your cursor over the WSA notification tray icon and that should produce a bubble with the version details. The current version is v9.0.8.66 if memory serves.

If that is not the version you are running then right click on the WSA notification tray icon and select 'Check for updates' from the context menu displayed...that should request a manual update and if there is one available then it should occur...but please note that sometimes it takes repeated requests to get this to happen.

Assuming that you are on the post 2011 version of WSA there is no need to uninstall it and install anything fro the CD. To enter and activate you new keycode subscription please follow these steps:

and then:

That should then carry out the activation process for the new keycode/subscription. If that does not then please post back with details of where you are encountering issues and we will try to assist further.

Now, you have posted in the Complete forum, so I am assuming that this is the version that you are using. If that is the case then I need to make you aware of some thing in relation that that:

if you currently use either Internet Security Plus or Complete versions and the Password Manager and or the Back up & Sync features, then activating/moving to a new keycode will mean that you can no longer access your data stored against the old keycode...so if this is the case you will need to Open a Support Ticket and ask the Support Team to transfer the data from current to new keycode, once you have activated the latter...you have about 30 days to do that before the data is deleted.

I hope that clarifies things a bit for you?  If not then please come back and advise further as to what you need help with.

Regards, Baldrick
