I have installed WR on my LG G Stylo (Lollipop5.1.1) Smartphone. Can I use public wifi safely with webroot installed. How? What steps do I take ?

Hi gary888
Welcome to the Community Forums.
I am not expert on Android, etc., but as far as I know you just go ahead and use your phone as per normal bearing in mind that public WiFi is always going to be less secure than personal WiFi.
Perhaps ? or ? might be able to offer more advice base on them being more knowledgeable on Android matters?
Regards, Baldrick

Hi ?,
Welcome to the Webroot Community,
Not much more to add here ?. Webroot will protect you from all of this:
My advise would be to verify the name of a network that's open with the staff of a coffee shop or public library. Also when connected I wouldn't do any banking until you were on a secured Network just to be safer. When you are on a public WiFi network make sure that you do not accept any prompts to update a software package. This could be malware being installed on your device. But then again Webroot will always check for any downloads or installs on your device and stop it.
Then when you are finished using that open Wifi Network make sure you log off and tell your device to forget the Network so that if you are in range your device cannot connect again.
? can you add here as well any details?
Hope this helps?

- Real-time anti-phishing protects your identity while browsing, shopping, and banking
- Warns you about infected websites before you visit them
- Social network protection including Facebook and Twitter
- Automatically scans apps for malware and viruses

I do not have a lot to add to this, but I am admittedly on the more conservative side. When using an open public network, your communications to that WiFi point are not encrypted, so really I do not trust the connection on ANY page that requires a log in or any other personal information. The communications can be captured by anyone in range.
