Installed but scan was aborted. It is a laptop wireless. Will it not work then?

Hello Lindsey. Welcome to the Community. WSA needs to connect to the internet to check against malware database definitions that are stored in the cloud and detect malware on the laptop.
To add and clarify what has been said above, during the install the computer must be connected to the internet in order to activate and register the key code, as well as to complete the first full scan.
WSA does work just fine on wireless devices, and once the first install is complete will continue to work at times when the computer is not currently connected to the internet.
I hope this helps!

And, if I may pipe up aswell, to further shed light on this question...WSA will scan very well when not connected to the web (if just done so...just to check what I am saying) as it ramps up the use of heuristic detection techniques in the analysis and also makes use of a cut down set of signatures held on the client, for just this scenario.
Hope that helps clarify a little more fully.
