If I select Windows Update Temporary Folder in the System Optimizer Settings, will Windows updates that have been downloaded to the folder but not installed yet be deleted?

Also, will future Windows updates take longer with those files deleted?
Hi jcl

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I do not believe that the System Optimizer will delete Windows Update-related files that have not yet been installed. I understand the Optimizer to be intelligent enough to discern between those files that have and have not been installed.

I run the Optimizer regularly, as many of us do, and have not noticed any issues with the length of time Windows Updates takes after an Optimizer run.

I presume that should not yet installed WU files be deleted, for whatever reason, then as they would have to be downloaded again, for installation, the WU process would naturally take longer.

Hope that helps?
