I have ransom ware virus on my computer. I can not access my photos, music, and videoes because they have been encrypted. They want $700.00 for the decryption key. Is there any way to get access back to my files without paying for the key code. I keep getting messages pertaining to RSA-2048 encryption, CIAFLI files, CTB-Locker, and HELP_ Decrypt.png. The only other thing I know to do is wipe the hard drive and reinstall everything, but some of my photos will be lost forever. How do I fix this mess?

Hello @
Welcome to the Community Forum,
We are very sorry that you are having these issues.
WSA does provide excellent protection against the Crypto malware, Ransomeware, but there are new variants
constantly being released in an attempt to stay ahead of software like WSA.
In some situations where it has gotten past, Webroot Support has been able to help by way of the rollback, etc. I would wait to format.
Please look here at what happens if Webroot misses a virus, https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Antivirus/What-Happens-if-Webroot-quot-Misse...
Also please look at this video about Webroot and Ransomeware https://www.brighttalk.com/webcast/8241/127363
Webroot support to remove viruses that make it past protections is free, so you should open a support case or give them a call. In the meantime I would leave the computer off until you hear back from them.
