Hi,

Need to do some testing and uninstall Webroot for a little while.   Problem is that Webroot doesn't show up on the CONTROL PANELUNINSTALL section or the Revo Uninstall Pro tool.   :8    I tried to re-add Webroot over the present Webroot hoping that it will show up, even a FORCE UNINSTALL with Revo.    All it showed was 2 left over files.    Still there through. Do I have a 'Ghost' copy of Webroot that's not there?

Do I need to reinstall WIN 10 ?

Hi acme

Please see this KB Article re. options re. the "Webroot doesn't show up on the CONTROL PANELUNINSTALL section" issue. There are instructions for how to do a command line uninstall...just make sure that you open the command prompt to do this with elevated privileges, i.e., as an Adminstrator.

I would try that first and see if that resolves the initial issue before goingdrastic on it and reinstalling Windows 10.

I tried to, but couldn't delete it.  Went back to 8.1 and reinstalled Windows 10. Using Windows Defender.  :S
Hi acme

When one upgrades to WIndows 10, if it does not detect another av/IS being installed it will enable WIndows Defender so that you have some protection.

If you now install WSA that process should cause Windows Defender to be disabled...but sometimes that mechanism fails in which cse we can advise as to how you can disable WIndows Defender manually so that you are just left with WSA installed and protecting you.

Nothing wrong with Windows Defender, just when an antivirus is stuck on your computer and you can't remove it . Had this happen with other antiviruses. I tried to do a recovery and I got an error, what a day.  :@

WD is a pointless piece of software and even Microsoft say so and advise replacing it with a 3rd party solution.

Now not really sure what you issue is so pleae reprise it and we can see if we can help further.
