I am trying to activate my account but I cant find the access code when I get my email. I have the key code but that is it.

I get a specific request tto activate my account with a security code not a product code.

I am asked ot enter the second and fourth character for my security code. Where do I get this?

Please look here if you have not set up an Online Account Console.

 

If you have already set up an Online Account Console then please look below to reset your security code.

 

1. Go to my.webrootanywhere.com

2. Click on 'Can't log in?' link, and then reset Security code.

3. Follow the window and reset Security Code then try to confirm the account.



 

Further instructions here that may be understood more clearer.

Assuming you signed-up on-line for a Webroot.com account, you were (or should have been)  asked for a word to use as a security code (I seem to think they specified 8 characters;  For example, you could have designated something like "Write 16" -- so the 4th and 7th characters would be "t" and "1".)  That is the code for which they now ask for the two specific characters; only you know that code because you chose one to use.  If you never entered a code word, you will have to contact Webroot Customer Support.
