A block keeps appearing telling me that Windows Defender and Webroot are not on. Checking Webroot, it shows everything normal.

This is, I am afraid to say, a known issue that Webroot are working on. Please see this previous thread that should provide you with all the information you need about where we are in realtion to it.

Thanks for the solution. I was having the same issue on my Windows Vista desktop and this solved it.
