I'm trying to install a new copy of Webroot Secure Anywhere to replace an existing version that is expiring after being installed for almost a year. The new version is on a disc. I broke the seal on it and opened it this morning.
I uninstalled the existing version.
When I started running the Installer from the disk, I got a Secure Anywhere window saying "Scan Required" and that my subscription is expired. Clicking on the Scan button results in a new, blue, blank "Secure Anywhere" image and nothing more. I've repeated that process several times and seem to be getting nowhere. I'm not sure where to go from here.

Hi jimparsley
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Well, the first thing is that there is/was no need to uninstall the version of WSA you had installed previously, and from what you are describing it sounds like the uninstallation has not worked and that WSA is still installed. Would you check to see whether following a reboot you have WSA active?
If that is the case then all you need to do to apply your new key is to enter it into the currently installed version an activate it...BUT before you do so given that you are using the Complete version there are a few things that I should explain.
Having said that lets see where exactly you are in term sof the installation of WSA and we can take it from there.

I thought that might be the case, but I can find no indication that the old program is still there. There are no icons and it does not show up in the Control Panel's list of programs. I've restarted the computer several times. How should I go about finding it the program is still there ?

Hi Jim
OK, this might be the case of a partial uninstall so given what you are describing it is best to try to complete the process. Please take a look at the information in this KB Article which relates to uninstallation when WSA does not show up in the Control Panel's list of programs. Give those a go and if you do manage to get the uninstall completed I would download the latest installer from here but before installing again post back for those discussions about the use of a new keycode as a Complete user.
This is very important.

Your information about searching for and deleting the Webroot uninstaller worked. I did that, tried reloading the new version, was able to get to an installation screen and have successfully completed installing the new version. THANK YOU!
On my next computer to upgrade, I'll try installing the new without first deleting the old.

Hi Jim
Glad to hear that that has sorted things for you...however, as I said before, if you are a user of the Complete version and if you have been using Password Manager or Backup&Sync, the data from those are tied to specific user accounts, such as the account you used to log into the Console. Each user account is tied to a specific key code.
SO... if you end up using the new key code, as you have, your Password Manager and Backup&Sync will stop working.
Webroot Support can help here. In this case if you Open a Support Ticket, provide them with your original keycode & the new keycode, and request it they can transfer the account data from the old key code to the new key code, and things will then keep working nicely. But be advised...ou only have 30 days to do this from the day that you start using the new key...after that the password & backup/sync-related data will be deleted.
Of course, if you do not use either the Password Manager and/or the Backup & Sync feature then you have nothing further to do.
