Windows 10 - Removed old Webroot and it was gone from the "Installed List"  This old version kept saying I had to renew.

 

I downloaded a new version & entered my new keycode.  All went normal, except I get the same message about needing to upgrade & that protection was disabled.  When I checked the Account in supposingly new Webroot, it had the old keycode.  Guess I will search/edit the registry since old keycode must be kept in there.  I always hate to go into the registry.  Any ideas?  Webroot said to uninstall again & delete a file "WRData" which I did, but this didn't help.  Same issue.  Any ideas?   Thanks, Bob

So you got a new Keycode instead of renewing? Have you setup your online account and put the new Keycode in there? Also are you using the Password Manager and the Back Up & Sync as you will lose that data when changing Keycodes. I would suggest that you Submit a Support Ticket and put both Keycodes in it and tell them to add the time of the new Keycode onto your current Keycode then you will not lose anything. And the current version of Webroot SecureAnywhere is at v9.0.7.46 if you hover over the Webroot Icon by the clock.

If I may just add to what Daniel has advised...there is no 'old' version of WSA, unless that is you are running a version of Webroot software that is pre 2011. Webroot incremental update WSA through a program of continuous improvement so whilst for marketing purposes some may refer to WSA 2016 in fact we go by the program version number, i.e., v9.0.7.46, being the latest version as stated by Daniel.

 

What that means is that you should always have the latest version of WSA running on your system as Webroot automatically, and very silently, 'push' updates out when they are released. So if deciding to purchase a new subscription rather than renew the existing one all one needs to do is to enter the new keycode in the current installation of WSA and activate it.

 

Having said that Daniel's recommendation is by far the best approach; get Support to add the time from the new subscription onto the current/expiring one which means no hassle in terms of Password and/or Backup & Sync-related data.
