What does it mean when my computer is telling me that"uBlock Origin requires new permissions". It tells me that"The newest version of the extension "uBlock Origin requires more permissions so it has been disabled"! Is this a legitimate Google post or is someone phishing?
Got a screenshot you can show us? Is this while using Firefox, perhaps, and related to this: "Not published to AMO: the one fix affected most likely only Chromium-based browsers."for v0.9.8.6  https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases

Unfortunately I'm unable to give you a screenshot right now, since it has disappeared from my screen. But it may pop up at times when I go to certain apps. I'll try to get to one and post it.

Thanks for your response.
found this: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/ublock-a-lean-and-fast-blocker.365273/page-51#post-2495956

"With this most recent upgrade, I was prompted on both of my machines to grant new/additional permissions to uBlock. The prompt indicated that uBlock had been disabled until or unless permission was granted. I granted. Maybe you missed the prompts."

Thank you for your input. I did see the prompts, but I wasn't sure if this message was legitimate or not,. You need to understand that just last month, some scammers somehow got into my computer and made me believe that the message originated from Microsoft. I needed to do certain things (prompts), and I had a heck of a time to get out of the mess, that was created. Webroot, helped me to solve the problems. Since then I am "gunshy" clicking on any prompts that tell me to enable the system again. So, from what I understand from you all, is that this is a legitimate message!

Thanks again for your taking tme to inform me.
Hi,

These folks love to help people and you are right to be "gunshy".  Better safe than sorry!

Best Regards,

Dave
