I can't get past login on my mini ipad having downloaded the mobile version.  I enter Email & pw because have not received a Name as ipad asks.  Both are entered correctly....and I consistently get FAILED LOGIN.  Anyone know what Name refers to in the ipad?

Thanks

Marilyn
Hi blossmi,

Welcome to the Webroot Community.

I am nt sure what Webroot Mobile version you have downloaded.

At this time, there is not an antivirus option available for Apple iOS devices. Because of how Apple manages the apps available in their App Store, there is not a need for one currently. This may change in the future but at this time is is extremly hard/almost impossible to infect an iPad.

Webroot does offer two apps you can download from the App Store to backup your files and protect your internet browsing, called SecureWeb and Backup & Sync. You can find either of them by searching for "Webroot" in the App Store on your Apple iOS device. For more information on both of these products please use the information below.

Webroot SecureWeb

Webroot Backup & Sync (for SecureAnywhere Complete subscriptions only)

https://mobile.webroot.com/brands/webroot/en/help/ios/SecureSync/index.htm

Look here for information for IPhones,IOS

It's important to know that your iOS device will not show up under "mobile protection" in your account, regardless of what version of Webroot you have. SecureWeb and SecureSync are Webroot apps for iOS devices, but they are not anti-virus applications and thus will not appear in the mobile anti-virus portion of the account area.

For more detailed help read below.

Download the SecureWeb app:

  1. If you have not yet created a Webroot account, go to https://my.webrootanywhere.com. Click Sign up now to begin creating the account.

  2. Open the App Store on your device and search for “Webroot SecureWeb.” Tap to install the app.

Alternately, you can download and install the SecureWeb app from iTunes at: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/webroot-secureweb-browser/id460986853?mt=8     Or from the Apple Store.

  3. Enter your Apple ID password.

The SecureWeb app opens and installs on your device. Once installed, you will see the Webroot SecureWeb icon on your Home panel. Tap this icon to open the app.

  4. To access Password Management functions, tap the key icon in the SecureWeb toolbar. Enter your SecureAnywhere user name and password. This is the same login that you use to access your Webroot account at my.webrootanywhere.com. If you have not yet created a Webroot account, go to my.webrootanywhere.com. Click Sign up now and complete your registration.

When SecureWeb validates your Webroot credentials, a green checkmark appears above the key icon.

  5. For more information, see Webroot SecureWeb for iOS Help.

To check your account permissions, sign into http://my.webrootanywhere.com, click your email address at the top right of the console, click Manage Users, and click the little person with the pencil icon on the right side of the screen.  Ensure that all of the values for your user are set to either Access or Admin level and that there are checks in the Passwords and Passwords Services boxes.  If anything is not set to that level and cannot be changed or a box is not checked and the value cannot be changed, please let us know.

Also just to let you know that Backup & Sync app, is only for Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete customers.

Hope this helps and if you need more guidance then please come on back.
Thank you Sherry.  I didn't realise when I opted for SecureWeb Complete today that  only limited protection was available for iOS devices.I needed support for iOS, PC and Android phone and tablet.  Frankly not interested in password vault, but hopefully web site threats work for iOS at the very least.  I had downloaded the secure web Complete app from iTunes.  The problem still remains that when I click the SEcureWeb desktop  icon, it asks for Name and Pw?  I have set up Account and don't have a name other than email address and Pw.  When I use these for login, I get Login Failed.

Not sure if I should worry about it.  Just uninstall and look elsewhere for IOS web protection?

Your info was much appreciated.

Hi blossmi,

I am sorry that this wasn't explained to you while purchasing Webroot for your IOS device. It's really hard for the IOS to get a Virus/Infection. But if you feel you need more protection then I quess it's possible to purchase more protection for the IOS. Which I do not feel is necessary. I have an iPad and a mini iPad and I use Secure Web Browser and I have not had any issue with protection for these devices for years.

Secure Web Browser does not ask for a email and passowrd in order to use. Only the Password Manager asks for this. You can download these Webroot apps from the Apple Store if you wanted to.

Would you mind reading these instructions for setting your permissions in your Account Console

Go to the Account Console and log in.  If you have not yet created your Account Console, you need to do this in order to log into the mobile apps correctly.

Once logged in, click your email address at the upper right corner and choose "Manage Users" from the dropdown.

Locate the profile (Email address) you are wanting to use to log in.  Check to make sure that all permissions are set to Access.  If you have WSA Internet Security Plus for your computer, you will need Mobile Security and Password access.  If you have WSA Complete for your computer, you will need Mobile Security, Back & Synch and Passwords all set to access.  If you do not have a license for your computer, and are using only the standalone Android app, you will need just Mobile Security set to access.

If these permissions are not correct, click the little "person icon" at the far right end of the profile you need to edit.  On the next screen, click the Access & Permissions tab at the top.  Adjust your settings here, and while you are here check the key code listed. If you are using the Mobile App as part of the protection you received  with WSA for your computer, the key code must not be expired, and if you have WSA Internet Security Plus or WSA Complete for your computer this key code should match what you are using on the computer application.  If the Key Code expired or does not match the key code for your computer, you may need to Submit A Trouble Ticket for assistance.  Changes to settings in the Account Console can take 20-30 minutes to take effect, so grab a chair, a nice cold glass of water and relax a few minutes.

If you are having issues then you can always Submit a Support Ticket free of charge and they will look into this for you.

 Hope this helps?

Hi Sherry, again thanks for your time.

I have checked all of the settings from the PC and all is ok.

The request for name and password seems to be related to the password vault as the key has a red x on it on the ipad.

I wil go back to the app store and have a look at WebSecure Browser.

Out of interest, are you with Webroot?  I am thinking that all I should have is the one PC product, and download from the app stores appropriate products available for mobiles and tablets.  The 5 device Complete, which was recommended, is definitely the wrong product for me.

Fortunately I only downloaded a trial product for 14 days starting today.

Hi blossmi,

I am only a Volunteer for the Webroot Community Forum. I cannot help you with changing your subscription if that is what you are asking. You are currently using Webroot for 3 devices which is the Webroot Secure Anywhere Internet Security Plus for 3 devices, This would cover your PC, Android and tablet.  The Apple Store has the Free WebSecure Browser. for the IOS.

Here is information concerning the Password Manager vault if you want to have a look.,

You can contact Webroot and explain your position. http://www.webroot.com/us/en/company/contact-us

Hope this helped somewhat?
