Password Manager tells me that the automatic login function on the sites I have entered will not work since the Webroot Toolbar is not installed.  But when I go to Webroot to install the Toolbar, I am told it is already installed.  All sites I have entered into Password Manager have the automatic fill-in and automatic login boxes checked.  I bought Complete yesteerday (12/04) directly from Webroot. What do I do?
Hi mike4080

I am somewhat confused when you say "when I go to Webroot to install the Toolbar," as normally one does not have to install the Toolbar per se, it is automatically installed in the supported browsers, i.e., Firefox, Chrome, IE11, etc., when one installs WSA on one's system, so I am not really sure what you are meaning/doing when you say that.

Would you be able to describe the exact sequence of events that give you the messages you say that you are seeing / receiving and that should better enable us to assist/offer advice on this.

Please advise as to which browser(s) this is happening with and also please check that you have the "Webroot Password Manager" extension/add on installed and enabled...by checking for it in the Addon/Extension page of the browser(s) concerned.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Sorry, I would not know how to do what you ask in terms of extension/add ons in the browser I am using.  I can tell you that I am using Firefox.
No worries, Mike, it is relatively simple.

Click on the settings icon (3 horizontal lines one on top of the other) that you will find in the top righthand corner of the browser window. In the context menu displayed, click on the 'Addons' icon (bottom right hand icon in the group displayed), and that should open up an new tab displaying the Addons that are installed (If you look down the left hand side of the page you should see 4 options the 2nd down which should be 'Extensions'...if that one is not highlighted then click on it to display the Addons installed.

Hope that helps?

The add one was not enable for Password Manager.  I enabled it, but in Password Manager the box saying "auto log-in may not work" still appears.  And it does not work.  I may need to re-start my computer for it to do so.
Well, go ahead and restart your system to see if that resolves the issue for you .

Restarted computer.  Auto log-in still does not work.  I say that expecting that when it works it opens the site once I click on the site in Password Manager.  Right now, doing so takes me to the site home page where I must go through my usual log-in procedure, so Password Manager does nothing for me at the moment.

Must admit I am in way over my head on this stuff, since I'm not computer literate.  So maybe Is hould be happy with what I purchased--a security program that really protects my computer--and be happy with that.  Sad I cannot discover how to use all its functions, but maybe in time.

Thank you for your striving to be my white knight.
Well, once you have signed into a site for the first time and WSA has detected that and offered you the option to save the credentials, the next time that you open the login page for that site, if the Password Manager is active, i.e., the toolbar-related icon, the circle with a 'W' in it is Green, then the credentials use to log into the site previous should be filled in the relevant fields.

If the toolbar-related icon, the circle with a 'W' in it is Grey, then the Password Manager is not active and no filling in of credentials will take place.

So signing into the Password Manager when you first open the browser is fundamentals to the good use of the Password Manager.

Now whilst there is an auto login function I rarely use it relying on the auto fill function after which I just press enter.

I still cannot quite get my head around what it is you are seeing/doing...but something is not right there.

Have you taken a look at this KB Article about how to use the Pasword Manager, and this one on Automatic Login? If not then give it a look as it may shed some light on what is not right on your system or what you are not doing right.

thank you for continuing to help me.  I will re-read your post tomorrow (time for my beddy-bye) and see if I can better grasp the auto log-in feature.  Continued success in your quest to help other floundling new members like me.
