I was unzipping a file and Macrium was running a backup in the background. Surprisingly, I got a window where I was asked if I wanted to allow this program to make changes to this computer. The Webroot icon was on the dialogbox asking this. I said no. I wasn't installing anything and I wasn't sure if the zip was doing something. Afterwards I thought that maybe it was webroot trying to update. I only remember seeing the Webroot icon on the panel. Was it Webroot and what do I do to get the update now that I declined?

Hi Kev914,
Just a thought here..have tyou rebooted your system to see if you get that message again? When Webroot updates it does it automatically and I don't recall getting these messages especially when Webroot updates from the cloud. I have version v9.0.0.65. When installing a program you will get this message.

Hi Ssherjj
Maybe it was a good thing I declined since I wasn't installing anything and I don't know why the panel came up. I tried unzipping the file again just to make sure it wasn't doing anything. I didn't get the installation panel this time.
I did see that if I right click on the webroot icon that there was an option to check for updates. When I did that, it said that I was already running the latest version and that it would update automatically so there was no need to check for updates. (Not sure if I'm quoting exactly.
I did have Nero open and I wanted to burn the files, but then I noticed that they were still zipped, so I opened an explorer window to extract them. Maybe that had something to do with it. I don't know. But I wasn't installing something that I didn't know what it was.
Thanks.
