I've just installed Webroot Complete. My OS is Windows 8. Despite Webroot Firewall is enabled, Windows Firewall is not automatically disabled; I must manually turn off the windows firewall? Can I leave both firewalls activated? Thanks
Hi Eneas

Welcome to the Community Forums.

You are running in the correct configuration and all is well.  WSA requires another firewall to be used in conjunction with it's own as it only covers outbound connections, and so needs something else to cover the inbound connections.  Since Windows 7 the Windows built in firewall has been viewed as extremely capable, especially in the realm of inbound connection security, and so Webroot have made us of this and design WSA to work with Windows Firewall.

If you do turn off WIndows Firewall then you will most definitively need to install a good/reputable 3rd party firewall to handle the inbound connections, and there is no reason as to why you should not if you have sucha product available...but if not then I would recommend staying withthe Windows Firewall with WSA...that is what I use and I am perfectly happy with the combination.

For further assurance please see this official Knowledge Base article on the subject.

Hope that helps?
