I use SecureAnywhere on all devices. I booted a laptop today that uses Windows Vista. When it completed it told me that my antivirus software was turned off. I made several attempts to activate it and couldn't get it done. I tried to turn off the Microsoft Firewall and Defender and couldn't get rid of it.

I am not an expert in this type of problems. But it looks like Microsoft is preventing me from useing at least two parts of Secure Anywhere. Question - Is this a user problem (me)? Or, is Microsoft the problem?

For now, I have shut that laptop down. Please let me know if anyone has had the same problem and what had to be done for a fix.

Thanks
Hello ?,

IVe been getting a few here on the Forum that are getting this same issues. Usually we have one uninstall and do a clean reinstall of Webroot.

Please follow the steps closely!

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE) Let us know if it is the Mac version you need.
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings if asked to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Please let us know if that resolves your issue?

If this does not work then please submit a Support Ticket to the Webroot Support Team and have them take a look
