The mobile app flagged SmsReg by com.mediatek.smsreg as a threat. It can't be removed, can't be quarantined. Is related to something called "key chain 4.2.2-eng.wormboss.1388560711" and other 'wormboss' apps. Seems wormboss@midgard #2 (Github) is listed. similiar apps exist all thru the operating system, they just didn't flagged.

This is a Verizon Android tablet. Anyone know anything?(sic)

Peace

Hello m_tigre,

Welcome to the Community Forum,

I think your best bet is to Conact Support and have them check this Verizon Tablet out. To me this looks rather serious. Support is free and they will gladly check this  out for you. I'd recomend a Factor reset of that tablet but it's best to have Support help here.

Please keep us posted!

Best Regards,
You say the tablet is a Verizon, (service provider), but may I ask who the manufacturer is?  Would it happen to be Samsung?

I seem to remember a few issues several months back with some Samsung devices and that file name.

@ssherrj  I have been out a while... do you recall anything about this?  This is probably NOT the same issue from what I can tell, but I am really not sure!

Hi David,

I've been searching and this sounds familiar to me also. I'll keep looking though!

Edit: Is this considered Malware David?

Sure thing David but the more searching I do claims this to be Malware threats. Can the PUAS article help with this would you say?
