I am in the process of updating Webroot Secure Anywhere, but instead of directly renewing, I am purchasing WSA 2015 through Amazon. Will I need to uninstall WSA 2013 manually before installing WSA 2015? I have files currently being monitored by webroot, and would preferably not want them to be freed.
Hi AndyM39

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The 2013, 2014, 2015, etc. moniker to WSA is in fact incorrect as Webroot no longer put out an 'annual' versions but rather rely on a continual improvement process as denoted by the product version number, i.e., v8.0.8.nn..so we are currently at version 8.0.8.76, if I am not mistaken, and as a result of having a valid/active subscription you should already have the latest version on your system. To check either hover your cursor over the WSA icon in the notification area or check in the client by clicking on the 'My Account' tab in the main panel, to reveal the information.

Therefore, in summary you will NOT need to uninstall what is currently installed/download an install a new version.

Now, a couple more things:

(i) do not enter the new keycode until the current one has expired because if you have any time on the old one that will continue to run down even though you have activated the new one, and so you would effectively "lose" the time still left on the old one.

And

(ii) if you currently use either Internet Security Plus or Complete versions (and I see that you are posting in the Complete Forum) and therefore may be using the Password Manager and or the Back up and Sync features, then moving to a new keycode will mean that you can no longer access your data stored against the old keycode...so if this is the case you will need to Open a Support Ticket and ask the Support Team to transfer the data from current to new keycode, once you have activated the latter...you have about 30 days to do that before the data is deleted.

Or, to cover both situations you could also contact the Support Team, ahead of changing keycode, and just as them to add the subscription period from your new keycode to the old or 'current' one so that you end up having a new subscription period of remaining on 'old' + purchase on 'new' keycode, but against your old or 'current' keycode and so have no need to ask them to transfer your Password Manager/Backup and Sync data across keycodes, etc.

I hope that answers the questions/explains what you are seeing and what to do to resolve the issues?  If not then please come back and advise further as to what you need help with.

Regards, Baldrick
