When I received the renewal email, I followed that process to renew.  Every day, for weeks, I continued to receive renewal notices during startup, which seemed to cause issues in several processes, notably, the loading of my Chrome profile, and the continued crashing of Weboot Password Manager.

I have to reload Chrome in Windows 8 mode, and from there, reload in Desktop Mode, and reload Webroot Password Manager.

Now, the renewald notices have ceased, but startup is still interrupted by Chrome mis-load, and Webroot Password Manager now will not reload at all.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks.

Hi DeeElle

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I have to admit that I have not heard of these issues before but am wondering if it is something to do with a 'faulty' WSA installation.

There are a lot of users who use Chrome, WSA, and Windows 8.1 without a problem, so this would not be a 'global' issue.  It would be something unique to your computer, and thus most likely we can get it fixed.

One thing: my own guess is that it is not related to the Webroot Extensions for Chrome, either the Password Manager or the Web Filter Extension.  If it were the browser extensions causing the issue merely shutting down WSA would not allow Chrome to open as the extensions are still active when WSA is simply shut down.

The first thing I would suggest is the easiest/quickest fix and that is to do a clean install of WSA.  Removing and reinstalling WSA is pretty quick and usually takes well under 10 minutes.  Please try the following and let us know if it helps:

  • Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a new copy HERE (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
  • Try opening Chrome and see if this has helped.
If this fixes it, great, but if not just let us know and we can go from there, or you could Open a Support Ticket to let the Support Team take a deeper look.

Either way please let us know how you proceed.

Regards, Baldrick

Hello,

so, here is the second one!

When trying to log into my webroot password manager it says (in german) your account has been deactivated/disabled.

Why? Nothing was changed by me!! It was working fine for almost one year!

I am still able to log into the webinterace (https://de-my.webrootanywhere.com) but have no access to my keywords there neither. A new key has been enabled a cpl of days ago!!

Hello zorbas,

If you cannot access the keycodes option in the Online Console, as described  here then it would be best to Submit a Support Ticket  and the issue you're seeing is similarly described here   and addressed.

Let us know if your issues remain unresolved, or if you've questions. Thanks.

thx,

Had to get my keycode transfered.
