Scans should not take that long.  The average scan time with WSA is under 2 minutes, and even on an old 2008 laptop of mine that is rather underpowered and pitifully short on memory the scans rarely went much over that.

 

Lets try one thing first if we can.  If you were to open WSA and manually start a scan with the Scan Now button, what is the result?  Does it scan in the expected time of just a couple minutes or will it take such an exteneded time as you mention above?
