the thing keeps locking me up the round search disc do no rotate and freeze up, like we have been taken over. What gives?

Are you having issues with your DVD drive? Here is an article on how to uninstall the DVD from Device Manager and on reboot Windiws will install the device again. This can be done when trouble shooting.

Unless you are talking about your Hard Disc Drive and that might be another story.
