This is probably a completely weird question, but I tend to be a bit OCD when it comes to making sure that I don't get any weird stuff on my computer, so I will generally run a scan when I am finished doing whatever I need to do on line.
Yesterday when I did that, I had a report that showed that my system scanned 33K+ files.
Today, when I was running the scan to 'clean up my work space' when it completed it said that it had scanned 28,049 files.
So I guess my question is, where did the other files go?
Should I be worried that something funky is going on or am I simply being a Nervous Nellie about this?
Thanks for putting up with the resident goofball! 😉

Hi gr8auntteffie
Hope that you are well?
What you are seeing is in my book quite normal...the number of files that are considered as needing to be scanned by WSA will vary per session and will be based on what activities you have undertaken in that session...that is the way Windows work; for example...if you log on and scan ypu will most likely see 'x' files scanned, but if you then log off, logon on again, browse the internet for a while and then scan you will probably see 'y' files scanned this time...this is because you activitynand therefore the files that Windows will open, temporarily create will be different between sessions.
I see this all of the time and as far as I know this has never caused me an issue or been a security risk.
Hope that helps?
Regards, Baldrick

Hi gr8auntteffie
You are most welcome. I am sure that if other members have a different view they will post back...but as far as I am concerned I have no issues with what you are describing...and see it all the time.
Have a great day...and weekend.
Regards, Baldrick
