I've got a difficult (probably), but quite important question...

Is there a chance for a more effective cooperation between Webroot Web Threat Shield with Sandboxie?

From what I could observe, when the browser (e.g. FireFox) is sandboxed, a message asking wether to allow access to dangerous site will not appear, probably because Sandboxie blocks Webroot access to the browser.

However when you try to download a suspicious file, although the download directory is located in one of the Sandboxie's  folders, WSA can display a security prompt, morover it can also capture and block the dangers.

So we can't say that the Web Threat Shield does not work with Sandboxie, the only problem seems to be blocking dangerous sites. A I right?

If so, can anything be done about it? From my own experience I know that the combination of WSA and Sandboxie could be a great for system security.

Hi Miquell - This is an interesting combination and I can see how Sandboxie may be blocking Webroot's access to the browser. Best bet is to Open a Support Ticket so that we can document your logs and the troubleshooting so we have something to go off of if our developers need to make changes.

Certainly, I'm going to do that, but I think I'll wait just until my Web Threat Shield will be upgraded.

What's worse is that the ID shield does not protect against keystroke capture or screen capture when a browser is in a sandbox.

 

Well ok let me refine that...somehow, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't so it's a shoot and miss.  I don't know if it's depend on the load order of programs or not....but that should not be the case since I thought that webroot loads as soon as the OS loads.

But wouldn't allowing the Web Threat Shield work within the sandbox compromise the security features of the sandbox itself? Like it does with the AVs and software listed in the compatibility list in Sbie interface?
use sandboxie when you are visiting risky sites. 

always run chrome unsandboxed when you need to enter a password or any other sensitive info.
